Pete Johansson – Utopian Crack Pipe (Get Comedy)
By Rebecca Low | Published on Friday 24 August 2012
If you had told me that I was going to see a stand-up show that was essentially all about bears and that I was going to love it, I would’ve laughed in your face. And then I saw Pete Johansson. After getting to know his small but perfectly enthusiastic audience, the Canadian comic launches into his observations on life, love and animals of the genus ursus, and how we’re not so different from them as we’d perhaps like to think. Charmingly dry and smart, Johansson is a wonderfully funny storyteller. As his show swings from pertinent to poignant and all the way back again, you can’t help but warm to his engaging personality. Bears have never been so funny.
Underbelly Bristo Square, 1-27 Aug (not 13), 8.40pm.
