Paul Merton’s Impro Chums (Mick Perrin For Just For Laughs Live)
By Anna McDonald | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
Improv shows; there are so many of them at the Fringe that it can be difficult to distinguish between them. However, Paul Merton and his chums Mike McShane, Lee Simpson, Richard Vranch and Suki Webster are in a league of their own. It’s obvious that their many combined years of experience have certainly paid off, as they never miss a beat and have the ability to make even the most boring audience suggestions into highly entertaining scenarios. Particularly impressive were the improvised musical accompaniment provided by Vranch on the keyboard and the final Shakespearean game. Definitely one of the slickest and most humorous improv shows you will find in Edinburgh: practice clearly makes something close to perfect.
Pleasance Courtyard, 16-25 Aug, 4.00pm.
