Milo McCabe – Kenny Moon This Is Your Life (IMWP)

Utilising the same premise as that once iconic TV programme ‘This Is Your Life’, this show includes a multitude of wacky characters as Milo McCabe takes on various guises in a bid to present former comedian Kenny Moon’s life story, making for a rather surreal spectacle. It’s a slow starter, relying, at first, a little too heavily on audience interaction and clichés. But as the show develops McCabe’s best characters – in the form of a Thai ladyboy and a salacious, eccentric thespian – do showcase his talent for absurdity and a real understanding of character comedy. Though, while generally well-acted, the material was sometimes left wanting, and didn’t quite complement the energy of the performances.
