Maff Brown’s Parade Of This (Maff Brown / EdCom Productions)

With four actors (Will, Dave, Laura and Maff) on stage and only seven people in the audience, ‘Maff Brown’s Parade of This’ could have been a very awkward gig. After some words of encouragement from Maff at the beginning of the show, however, it turned out to be a fairly fun affair. The shorter skits and recurring characters were good – especially an ongoing gag about Will working on ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show’ – but the longer sketches aren’t brilliantly written, and often needed someone on stage to clarify points or confirm when it was over. Even so, all the performers are very likeable, and throw so much energy into what they’re doing, that it’s impossible not to at least crack a smile.
