ED2012 5/5 Reviews ED2012 Comedy Reviews
MacAulay And Co (BBC Radio Scotland)

Festival hangovers are cured by this cosy duvet and bacon roll of a morning show in the ”salubrious” BBC tent at Potterrow. Mercurial chatmaster Fred Macaulay links gags and guests with aplomb while the adorable Susan Calman cheekily comments on Fringe and current events. Today’s ‘Generation Game’ conveyor belt of non-regular guests showcased Phil Jupitus, Tim Vine, Danny Bhoy, Abandoman, James Acaster, show-stealer Bridget Christie and cuddly toy Patrick Monahan giving an audience member an unconventionally long embrace. So why not just stay at home in bed to listen to this radio show? Well, you’ll miss Calman’s unrehearsed reactions to the news, the visual gags (which do happen) and general excitement and genial atmosphere of this live show.
BBC @ Potterrow, 6-17 Aug (not 11, 12), 10.30am.
