Lloyd Langford – One Day In The Life Of Lloyd Owen Langford (Mick Perrin For Just For Laughs Live / The Assembly Rooms)
By Olivia Lyth | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
As the title of Lloyd Langford’s stand-up show suggests, the show is about one day in his life. It’s not a particularly interesting day, in fact, the only thing that really happens during the day is that he goes to the supermarket, to buy bread. However, Langford weaves a series of entertaining stories around the apparently unremarkable tale, and the result is observational comedy at its best. The comedian is instantly likeable; it’s impossible not to warm to him, and also quite hard not to compare him to a young Rhod Gilbert – who is his landlord apparently – although he’s warmer than Gilbert. It will be interesting to see how Langford develops; he’s definitely one to watch.
The Assembly Rooms, 1-25 Aug, 7.45pm.
