Khishore And Joe Are Squeaky Clean (Heroes Of Alternative Comedy)
By Rebecca Low | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
Joe Davies walks up to the stage with a children’s cassette player blaring out a slightly ropey version of Wham!’s ‘Last Christmas’ and proceeds to tell the audience that this is it: just this, for 45 minutes. Thankfully, he’s joking, but all the same he doesn’t seem to have much else prepared. His chatty but structureless patter with the audience is a little thin on jokes, but Davies is charming nevertheless. By contrast, Khishore Nayar has such a studied air to his routine that it detracts from the actual comedy, parts of which would be really funny if he just loosened up a bit. Fairly amusing, but both boys need to take a leaf out of the other’s book.
