Kevin Tomlinson – Seven Ages! (Kepow Theatre Company)
By David O’Connor | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
In possibly the sweatiest room in all of Edinburgh, there is an improv show unlike any other. A blend of improvised comedy and Shakespeare’s idea of the Seven Ages Of Man, this performance by Kevin Tomlinson is full of energy and, at times, is an interesting look into the human condition. The first half of the show, which seems to involve the most improvisation, produces a great deal more laughs than the latter stages of the performance, yet though the laughter tails off, fans of comedy theatre will still enjoy the more introspective edge to the performance’s climax. A show worth seeing for the clever use of audience-provided song lyrics alone, but not for festival goers looking for their usual hilarity fix.
Just The Tonic at The Caves, 3-25 Aug (odd days only), 3.20pm.
