John Scott – Totally Fed Up (John Scott / The Stand Comedy Club)
By Joanna Gill | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
Week Three of the Fringe, and this show’s title promised some welcome cynicism. I was expecting a Scottish Bill Hicks and what I got was a tame tirade of BBC libel-scanned comedy. That said, Scott is an incredibly endearing man, he describes his look as ‘homeless Bee Gee’, a far cry from his website which quotes him as a mix between Billy Connolly and Aragorn. He is neither as funny, nor as savage, as either. The Monday night crowd may have held him back because he excelled in his most bitter moments, talking about bigotry and dining on quails’ tears. A few more 3 star reviews, and his bile might spew forth.
