Holly Burn – The H Club (Bombshell Productions Ltd)
By Miranda Cannibal | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
The Fringe’s answer to car crash television. Holly Burn knew throughout that she was losing her audience, who became increasingly irritated and refused to work with her; during this particular performance, she seemed completely incapable of making herself sympathetic or building rapport, instead just becoming frustrated. Burn invites you to join her private members club, with eccentric characters she introduces from her choosey board, such as Dangerous Dawn Who Rolls In Petrol, and the Rabbit of Regret, a rabbit on her deathbed. Burn reminds me of a hybrid of Eddie Izzard and Carrot Top, but without any of the humour, and the show is drawn out and cringe-worthy. An absolute joke, though not in the way she was intending.
