Girl Band – Improv
By Grace Hardy | Published on Sunday 12 August 2012
Whilst I wouldn’t tell everyone I know to go and see ‘Girl Band’, it was certainly a pleasant hour, and I spent much of it either grinning or chuckling. The intimate atmosphere in the small venue and the laid-back feel of the show made it feel less like a performance, and more like you were just messing about with a big group of friends in the pub. I felt that one particular girl carried most of the show with her wry characterisation, but the bubbly foursome were clearly all well attuned to one another, and whilst the occasional scene dissolved into silliness on their part and bafflement on the audience’s, on the whole they kept everyone engaged and involved.
Laughing Horse @ Meadow Bar (venue 264), 6-26 Aug, 8.15pm.
