Geoff The Entertainer (Lee Fenwick / The Stand Comedy Club)
By Holly Close | Published on Thursday 16 August 2012
You know those drunk, slightly endearing tramps that sometimes talk to you at bus stops? Spending an hour with Lee Fenwick’s Geoff the Entertainer character feels like one of those tramps has kidnapped you and trapped you at a party, where he talks about his business ideas and theories on time travel. There was a terrifying game of Guess the Stain, and audience members were forced to read speeches in lieu of karaoke. Towards the end, I think I might have started developing Stockholm Syndrome, as I was quite pleased when Geoff gave me a handful of trifle on a newspaper plate, but, after an hour’s wait, I was glad when my bus finally arrived and I got to leave the party.
