Gareth Morinan Presents A Wilmops Good Improv Show (Gareth Morinan / PBH’s Free Fringe)
By Patricia-Ann Young | Published on Monday 20 August 2012
When an audience member’s one minute anecdote is more entertaining than your one hour improv show, you know you have problems. Not a chuckle was given in this dismal, so-called comedy show and when performer Gareth Morinan left half-way through (!) to take part in another show, I think the whole audience begrudged him his sweet freedom. The troupe was visibly thrown by how badly the performance was going and let the show descend into absolute drivel (listing Italian racial stereotypes was a particular low). It didn’t help that a raucous stand-up show was going on next door, constantly reminding us of what we were missing: actual laugh out loud comedy.
