Fred Cooke – Standing, Tilted

By | Published on Monday 20 August 2012

Fred Cooke’s show description is a misguided exaggeration about his set. There is no way that Cooke is the ‘fastest rising comedy star’, with a show that includes molesting an audience member, a duet (about the appropriateness of snogging cousins at a wedding) with a computerised squirrel, and the taping of a young girl to her chair. The worst part about this show was not that Cooke laughed at every single one of his own jokes, but that he told us that his friends and family members had suggested he didn’t come back to Edinburgh for another year, and he refused to take their sensible advice. This was an absolutely dreadful show full of awkward tension and creepiness.
