Dolly Mixture (Anna Morris / PBH’s Free Fringe)
By Emma Obank | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
YouTube sensation Anna Morris has stepped away from the camera to perform her debut solo show at this year’s Free Fringe. The character comedian performs an array of energetic and wacky roles; from a deranged Chelsea fiancée to an Australian fashionista. Silly (but repetitive) beauty advertisements are performed to break each sketch. Morris is certainly a talented actress and writer, and her song about Colonel Gaddafi will have you rolling in the aisles, though the show itself is badly structured, with Morris opening the proceedings with her weakest sketch and including some others that are too long and a bit tiresome. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t say avoid this show, because you can see a promising character comedian for a sweet price.
