David O’Doherty Presents 403 Second Masterworks (Fine And Dandy Productions)
By Lia Sanders | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
David O’Doherty gets five mates – who of course happen to be fellow top comedians – to present on any topic for just over six and a half minutes. ”This show is not about laughter; it is about learning”, he proclaims from underneath the lectern. They have all interpreted the brief differently, some using actual facts, others just Rubik’s cubes. Topics include how to defeat a robot in a 1993 video game and the importance of the V-sign to British culture. It’s a great opportunity to see a group of very different renowned comics (the line up the night I went included Al Murray, Sam Simmons and Mark Watson) do something a bit different. And it could only take place right here and now, in Edinburgh during the Fringe.
