Crunch The News (Bright Green And Lampoon Apathy / PBH’s Free Fringe )

“What could Britain spend £13,000,000,000 on?” we are asked at the start of this decidedly interactive show: with this tax-haven money our audience decided to carve a face on the moon. Part news panel show, part interactive comedy and part something else entirely, this madcap, slightly shambolic show will keep you entertained for just under an hour. The range of guests, from stand-ups to Edinburgh University’s rector, perhaps explains why the show feels a little unsure of what it is. Our performance was made by the host, John Luke Roberts, who kept everything flowing with continual quips. Unfortunately that was his last show, but if this is the usual calibre there are far worse ways to spend lunchtime.
The Voodoo Rooms, 4-18 Aug, 12.20pm.
