Comedy Brass (Adams & Neagle / Laughing Horse Free Festival)
By Bethanie Pochin | Published on Wednesday 15 August 2012
Unfortunately, this show needed some serious work. The delivery suffered from a lack of organisation from the beginning and as a result of this it felt like a casual rehearsal rather than a performance. While stumbling over the disorganized material, the comedians relied too heavily on the audience, which was naturally awkward given that the audience contained just three members. Some content (Anthea Neagle’s in particular) held much promise, but lacked successful delivery and so lost any attainable laughs along the way. However, I would be interested to see it again towards the end of the festival when some much needed graft has been put in; the show, and its performers, weren’t entirely lacking in potential, but on this occasion they didn’t deliver.
