Christian Reilly – This is Not A Love Song (Christian Reilly / PBH’s Free Fringe)
By Ellie Willis | Published on Thursday 16 August 2012
Watching Christian Reilly mosey up to the stage in his cowboy hat and gold loafers, I’ll admit that I wasn’t expecting this show to be a success. How dreadfully wrong I was. Much like Jack Black, Christian Reilly expresses his disdain for the world through some seriously catchy tunes, and though not all of this hysterical material was thought provoking, his suggestion for solving the economic crisis by redistributing all of Bono’s money to the public was extremely well received by the audience. Reilly sneakily invites the public to think about the problems in the world and the simple solutions to them, which sets his show apart from the rest.
