Bless You In Advance (Three Stand Ups And A Sit Down)
By Grace Hardy | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
‘Bless You In Advance’ is best described as weak. The delivery of the sketches or stand-up seemed to come quite naturally to the four comedians – they weren’t awkward and didn’t seem nervous – but the actual script wasn’t funny, and therein lay the problem. The whole show was sloppy, featuring stand-up which was often offensive and otherwise relied on self-deprecation, as well as unfunny sketches which petered out into the absurd. Plus, lines seemed frequently to be fluffed or forgotten. Yet, although they didn’t raise a smile from everyone, there were murmurs of appreciation from the audience for this group, if not a cacophony of belly-laughs; so if you’ve nothing better to do on a rainy day, this might not be a total waste of time.
