Big Value Comedy Show – Middle (Big Value Comedy)
By Conor Riordan | Published on Saturday 11 August 2012
For a show to be called ‘Big Value Comedy’ you begin with certain expectations: it should be cheap, cheerful and value for money, and these hopes were not let down. The audience were quickly drawn into a great rapport with the compère, and the few overenthusiastic hecklers in the crowd were dealt with in a very decisive way: the audience were all asked to stand up and shout ‘cunts’ at them. Which was a bit extreme, but a good way to really make us feel like part of the act… the comedy could sometimes be a bit predictable, and the acts’ stories didn’t always get the punch lines they deserved, but the show is good fun and friendly, and well worth the entrance fee.
Just The Tonic at the Caves, 4-26 Aug, 7.30pm.
