BBC – Tonight With Rory Bremner (BBC Radio 4)
By Hannah Sweetnam | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
This BBC Radio 4 recording was an enlightening hoot. Host Rory Bremner greeted the audience with a number of his best-known impressions, the likes of Prince Charles and Boris Johnson. The team: Lewis MacLeod, Susan Morrison, Nick Doody and Bremner himself had the audience in stitches with satire and sketches, impersonations and jokes, taking on Sean Connery and Charles Kennedy to Visit Scotland and even the SNP! Usual suspect Andy Zaltzman was missing for this particular recording, but an amusing clip was played so that we didn’t miss his presence too much. An engaging political debate on Scottish Independence, with Joyce McMillan of The Scotsman and Iain MacWhirter of The Herald, rounded off the recording perfectly. The finished broadcast will be well worth a listen.
BBC @ Potterrow, 22 Aug, 7.00pm.
