Arguments And Nosebleeds – Free
By Andrew Bell | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
Billed as “poetry mixed with comedy”, ‘Arguments And Nosebleeds’ fell a little awkwardly between both stools. While the local boy host was amusing enough, some of the other acts didn’t seem to have got the memo – the piece about squatting involving the totally non-ironic use of a bodhran in particular was neither poetic nor comedic. On the other hand, ‘My Hairy Woman’s Got It Growing On’, managed to be both funny and thought provoking, as did the poem about the false god, ‘Tess Co’. Maybe it was the multiple last minute replacements, or maybe it was that last day of the Fringe feeling, but ultimately, this is a show which never really found its rhythm.
