Andrew Maxwell – That’s The Spirit (Get Comedy by arrangement with United Agents)
By Nicholas Jones | Published on Wednesday 22 August 2012
If you’re not familiar with Andrew Maxwell’s work you should definitely go and see him: he’s an excellent comedian and consistently produces top-quality shows, of which this is certainly one. Clearly not afraid of upsetting anyone, he starts with an excellent twenty minutes on Celtic, Rangers and Alex Salmond, before moving on to his experiences with conspiracy-theorist rednecks in the southern USA. All very good but if you’ve seen him perform before and are pushed for time it may not be worth seeing this year’s work, because this show is very much business as usual. In short, simply another solid hit of Andrew Maxwell and if that’s what you want then it will do the job.
