Seussical (Caught In The Web Productions)
By Katie Cunningham | Published on Tuesday 21 August 2012
Fans of Dr Seuss really should go and see this. Blending together the stories from a number of his more famous books, it could either be seen as an introduction or a tribute. Either way, it works perfectly as musical theatre: the singing was great, the acting was lively and funny, and everyone involved obviously loved the source material. The costumes, whilst not replicating the books, manage to capture their brightly coloured and slightly unsettling feel. If you’re disturbed by the idea of a cat in a hat, or you’ve never heard of a lorax, this might just be good enough to convert you. An excellent kids’ show, and an even better celebration of Seuss.
