ACE – A Circus Extravaganza (Albert & Friends Instant Circus)
By Holly Close | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
In the company’s 17th year at the Fringe, the young performers of ACE more than fitted into to the breathtaking surroundings of the Royal Botanical Gardens. This year’s show is a modernised version of ‘Cinderella’, where Prince Charming has the option of finding a husband and falls for our heroine after seeing her on ‘Far Far Away’s Got Talent’. Though it takes a while to get going and certain scenes are too long, by the thrilling climax any earlier problems are completely forgotten. The whole cast demonstrate utterly spectacular circus skills: doing trapeze work, tumbling, unicycling and stilt-walking as if they were the most natural things in the world. A really wonderful show.
