The Zanniskinheads And The Quest For The Holy Balls (Slingshot, O’Pernacchio And ArscomicA)
By Veronika Kallus | Published on Tuesday 30 August 2011
White half-face comic strip masks, a lot of stupid and dull noises, and a moderately unintelligible mixture of French and English – that’s what makes up this silly skinhead mission. It’s filled with pantomime, slapstick and giggles aplenty, but it takes a while to get into the two characters; harder still is getting used to their accents and way of speech, as well as getting a firm grasp of the general story. However, the moments when they take off the masks and speak directly to the audience are particularly enjoyable. By the time they start travelling by means of their fart-driven plane, you either hate them already or are so charmed by their lovable cuteness that you forgive them anyway.
Underbelly, 6 – 28 Aug (not 15), 8.05pm (9.20pm), £8.50 – £10.50, fpp315.
