I Hope My Heart Goes First (Junction 25)

By | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011

Imagine being a proud yet reluctant parent going to see your child’s first ever performance in a school production. Attending this show is like that, except these aren’t your kids and you actually have to pay to see it. Though it’s refreshing to see the young cast perform with such excitement, after an hour of watching repeated sequences of them jumping up and down and squashing tomatoes – simulating a heart beating and breaking – it’s best to call it a day. Real talent is hard to find here; however, this may have been due to the nature of the production, where no acting or singing talent seemed enough to qualify for this monotonous routine.

St George’s West, 5 – 16, 24 Aug, times vary, £8.00 – £10.00, fpp270.
