What’s In The Water?
By Jennifer Ajderian | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
With pretty harmonies and songs, What’s In The Water? sing us out of our Fringe-induced stresses, and into a land less fraught with worry. Though the arrangement of each song is technically impressive, the performance is basic, lacking in personality or original material for songs. We’re chatted to a little between the songs, but aren’t given anything witty enough to merit remembering. A couple of renditions of well-known songs are static and belong in a pub open-mic night rather than in front of a paying audience. St Bride’s Back Room is a small enough venue for this to be an intimate performance – perfect for this act, since they would not be able to draw or captivate a larger crowd.
Acoustic Music Centre at St Brides, 14 Aug, 7.30pm (8.30pm), £6.00 – £8.00, fpp223.
