Benny Gallagher
By Taylor Wallace | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
Scottish folk singer Benny Gallagher is a legend; performing alongside Colin McFarley and Bob Wood, the three shredded their fret boards and belted out soothing and delightful three part harmonies. The house was packed with loyal fans, and I must have been the only one who’d never heard of Gallagher before. He warned us at the beginning of the show that there would be a special surprise, and after playing ‘I Wanna Lay With you For The Rest Of My Life’, a 30 strong children’s choir from Mary Erskin & Stuart Melville joined the trio on stage for their final song. The three legends may be a bit grey, but their fingers were as young and spry as ever.
