Leith Rules Golf (Georgian Antiques)
By Andrew Bell | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
Extraordinarily dull and poorly put together, this ‘exhibition’ of golfing items could only interest a curator wanting to see how not to do it. A mishmash of golfing equipment and knick-knacks are flung into two cabinets without thought or care, while the interpretation is poor at best and comically awful at worst. It doesn’t matter, though, because half the items have lost their stickers, so you might as well make it up as you go along. Some of the items might be rare or interesting, but it’s impossible to tell when they’re lumped in with plastic tees, used beer mats and a 1998 5p piece. ‘Leith Rules Golf’ is not so much a hole-in-one as lost in the rough.
