Wade McElwain – The Littlest Hobo (Wade McElwain)

By | Published on Tuesday 30 August 2011

With pride and shame, Wade McElwain informs us he’s been doing this for sixteen years. He’s a failure, you see, is Wade; the whole routine, explicitly and implicitly, is one long diatribe about his own mediocrity. Not only the mediocrity of his career, where his greatest success is presenting a game show, but also the mediocrity of his own material: with tired jokes about marijuana, masturbating and misogyny, it’s all delivered as part of the laddish slacker persona which grew dull years ago. The show lacks any theme, so when he leers at women in the audience for far too long, you get the impression it’s to cover up a thinly spread routine. Avoid.
