Tokyo Game: The Body Tights Man Show (3 Gaga Heads)
By Lynsey Martenstyn | Published on Tuesday 16 August 2011
Have you just seen a harrowing play or a comedian who has reminded you of the economy? Back away from the gin and watch this. Tokyo Game will split audiences: some will think it hilarious; others, utterly stupid. Tokyo Game is a left-field Japanese clown show; the three performers remain in leotards thoroughout and rarely speak, although they do interact with the audience. An eclectic mix of music plays overhead to accompany the production. Features include a “hair tango”, using balloons in extremely innovative ways, and a fart symphony with prosthetic bums. There is no plot to follow or concentration required; indeed, it is possible to find the show cathartic. If you enjoyed ‘Banzai’ on television, you will love this.
Just The Tonic at The Caves, Aug 10-28 (not 11, 17, 25), 5.30pm (6.30pm), £8.00 – £9.00, fpp160.
