The Naked Busker: Seeing More Of Me (Spooky Kid Productions)
By Felicity Martin | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
The first thing you notice about the Naked Busker is that he isn’t actually fully naked. This is the first let-down of the show. Amidst songs about anal sex and masturbation, the humour is puerile and basic, yet he seems bewildered when the audience doesn’t agree with what he clearly believes to be hilarious. Going to efforts such as shaving half his head and badly applying spray tan didn’t pay off in laughs, and a more carefully worked script would have been infinitely more effective. Despite not being able to sing, he delivered most lines with confidence and flair to an admittedly small and unforgiving audience. Unfortunately, by the end, I’d seen enough of Donnie Rust.
