Sketchatron: Nano (Draw HQ)
By Iain Martin | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
Sketchatron promises a selection of the finest sketch troupes from across the Fringe, and on this showing it does not disappoint. The line-up I saw comprised of big-hitters Men Of War, Delete The Banjax, The Behemoth and Fringe royalty The Penny Dreadfuls, whose classic ‘Creep’ sketch provided the evening’s highlight. Of course, the line-up changes each week, so there’s no guarantee that the standard will always be so high, but if this kind of quality-control is maintained, then Sketchatron could potentially be the best show of its kind out there. With four genuinely top-class acts for less than a tenner, it’s got to be one of the best-value hours on the Fringe.
Bedlam Theatre, 7, 14, 21 Aug, 9.30pm (10.30pm), £8.00 – £9.00, fpp152.
