Show And Tell (Barry And Stuart)
By Taylor Wallace | Published on Sunday 14 August 2011
“The world behind the magic is often more interesting than the one on stage, and we want to give you the option to experience that.” Most magicians don’t share their secrets, and now I know why: they’re more interesting than the actual tricks. Barry and Stuart split their act into two pieces. The ‘Show’ is an attempt to merge social media, magic, and 3D-like imagery. After their performance, I was convinced the ‘Tell’ was just a clever gimmick to sell more tickets; I was wrong. Telling is exactly what they did, shattering their own tricks while teaching you all about magic. It’s just a shame that you have to pay for two tickets to get the full experience.
Udderbelly’s Pasture, 3 – 28 Aug, 10.15pm (length may vary), £7.00 – £24.00, fpp43.
