Sanderson Jones – ComedySale.com / Fringe (Sanderson Jones)
By Michael Mackenzie | Published on Saturday 27 August 2011
He has personally sold a ticket to everyone in the audience, and he’s looked them up on the internet. He’s met me at the door, just so he knows who the critic is, to poke fun at. This is an ingenious set-up, making private jokes the stuff of stand-up, twitter updates the embarrassment of the audience, and heartily turning a room of strangers into a crowd of laughing friends. This brilliant idea, coupled with the affable and hilarious manner with which Sanderson bounces around the stage, makes this the best show I’ve seen this Fringe. Geeky and shocking humour collide magnificently, but there is something especially magnificent about a performer remembering your name and face – as long as you’re not a reviewer.
Just The Tonic at The Caves, 4 – 28 Aug (not 17), 9.20pm (10.20pm), £7.00 – £10.00, fpp147.
