Playtime – Free (Laughing Horse Free Festival / Awsum Brown O’Meara)
By Eleanor Pender | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
Jonny Awsun and Ed O’Meara work the room in Jekyll & Hyde. The traditional pub location is the perfect setting for this musical comedy and stand-up show; the relaxed atmosphere makes it feel like a chat in the pub on a Saturday afternoon rather than a performance. With his endearing West Country accent, Ed O’Meara jokes about his home town, his background, and gets to know a few audience members in between. Note to attendees: you draw attention to yourself if you cross your arms! Highlights have to include the parody lyrics of Jonny Awsum, who’ll have you humming Michael Jackson as you leave. Something like a fun afternoon sing-a-long in the pub with your mates, and that’s no bad thing.
Laughing Horse at Jekyll and Hyde, 20 Aug, 3.15pm (4.15pm), free, fpp135.
