Paul Merton’s Impro Chums (Mick Perrin For Just For Laughs Live)

By | Published on Friday 26 August 2011

One great thing about improvisational comedy, when done well, is that even when the performers mess up or stumble over their words, it’s still hilarious. ‘HIGNFY’ resident panellist Paul Merton and co, although exceedingly sharp and responsive for the most part, had many of these moments throughout the show, further adding to the cries of laughter from the huge audience. Taking suggestions from audience members at random, the group used a variety of different ways to create sketches, always keeping things fresh and smooth. On their own, the comedians were fair to middling, but when brought together they created continuous laughter, feeding off from each other’s material to develop the sketch or create something completely different.
