Papa CJ – One In A Billion (Papa CJ)

By | Published on Tuesday 16 August 2011

In a room ten times as big as it needs to be, Papa CJ recognises the awkwardness, asks for the house lights to be raised, sits at the front of the stage, and gets to know all ten of us by name. He’s disarmingly intimate and likeable, as he presents us with his account of India, though despite this attempt at a theme, the jokes are largely disconnected with no attempt at making smooth segues from one to the next. CJ is quite a traditional comedian with a shotgun delivery style: if you didn’t like that one, try this one which is completely unrelated to anything that’s come before! What’s most impressive about him is his clear desire to genuinely improve, and constantly humble requests for feedback. More please.
