ED2011 1/5 Reviews ED2011 Comedy Reviews
Original (Denis Krasnov / PBH’s Free Fringe)
By Samuel Johnston | Published on Tuesday 16 August 2011
Denis Krasnov had cracked by the end. “You know what? Your honesty is shit,” he said, as the crowd sat there in slightly awkward silence. His repetitive set often seemed to skip around the obvious punch lines but then curiously failed to come to any successful comic resolution. He did a long and dreary piece about Joseph Fritzl’s wife, failing to hit the right notes and missing the ironic opportunity of recounting this while standing in a cellar. Despite being affable and having an audience willing him to succeed, he seemed to wilt when the first few people left the room and fell into a comedy morass from which he never quite escaped.
