Olivia Lee – Chats Up The Fest (Brett Vincent For Get Comedy)
By Ellie Willis | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
Sit yourself down with Olivia Lee and friends for an hour of delightful entertainment worthy of the small screen – as Lee will remind you many, many, times. Olivia Lee is the host of a chat show, and while her abilities as a host are admirable, the show’s entertainment factor hinges entirely on the guests that Olivia chooses. Special guests included the less-than-comedic styling of Benny Boots (who requested that the audience laugh at his feeble punch lines), the incredible beatboxer Shlomo, and the charming magician Paul Daniels. Lee herself was amiable and quirky, a perfect combination for a host, but, depending on the guests, this show could be an ace or a flop regardless of Lee’s hosting skills.
Assembly George Square, 16 – 29 Aug, 5.45pm (6.45pm), £11.50 – £14.50, fpp128.
