ED2011 4/5 Reviews ED2011 Comedy Reviews
Lach, The Waitress, The Walls & The Weirdos (Lach)
By Iain Martin | Published on Friday 26 August 2011
This might be advertised as comedy but really it’s a music show. Lach, better known to Edinburgh audiences as host of his Antihoot at the Gilded Balloon, plays an hour-long set of original songs. It’s enjoyably informal, as Lach makes up his set-list as he goes along, playing whichever of his songs happen to come into his head, also occasionally improvising songs around words suggested by the appreciative audience. The highlight of the night for me was his love letter to rock and roll entitled ‘Kiss Loves You’. He’s a warm, likeable guy, and his banter between songs certainly amuses in this a brilliant, relaxing show. Just don’t go along expecting stand-up comedy.
