Jon Richardson: It’s Not Me, It’s You (Off The Kerb Productions)
By Nina Glencross | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
Jon Richardson, star of 8 Out Of 10 Cats, has only gone and written himself a book. What is it about, you ask? Why, it’s an autobiographical account of Richardson’s OCD-like tendencies and how they have massively impacted on his ability to maintain a stable relationship. Hilarious stuff, and what better way to showcase this side-splitting comic gold than to disguise a book reading as a comedy show at the Fringe? That is exactly what Richardson has done, and the pain in his face was all too visible when he starts to realise how pointless it all is. His book doesn’t really need its own show, and he would have been much better off sticking to stand-up.
Pleasance Dome, 20 – 28 Aug, 2.30pm (3.10pm), £11.00 – £12.00, fpp102.
