Fred MacAulay: Legally Bald (Fred MacAulay / The Stand Comedy Club)
By Nina Glencross | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
No Fringe experience would be complete without some classic Scottish comedy, and Fred MacAulay is a classic Scottish comic who sparks laughter and banter aplenty, no matter which topic should arise. Whilst discussing, among other things, airports, age, language, internet porn and the London riots, MacAulay draws most of his comic strength from the heckles of the audience, using them for brand new, on-the-spot material. This creates a great sense of community within the show, breaking down the usually impenetrable barriers between audience and performer, as the audience essentially become part of the performance themselves. In this case, no two shows will be the same but all of them are sure to be equally hilarious.
The Stand Comedy Club III & IV, 4 – 17 Aug, 7.50pm (8.50pm), £10.00, fpp78.
