Fin Taylor And Jared Hardy – With Full Orchestra (Fin Taylor And Jared Hardy / PBH’s Free Fringe)
By Simon Thornton | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
This is an act that really shouldn’t work, being clearly unscripted, un-choreographed and under-rehearsed. However, there is something so endearingly childlike and charming about the two comics that one can’t help but feel uplifted, and find oneself willingly laughing at the weirdness on display. These guys have a quality to bring the best out in an audience, which works beautifully in the intimate space of the Dragonfly’s upstairs room. Both Fin and Jared present their own individual stand-up pieces, which is divided by a game oh-so-cleverly entitled ‘2001: A Face Odyssey’. But perhaps the informal feel to the show, whilst refreshing at first, becomes a little too casual; their routine is definitely a work in progress, but one worth seeing nevertheless. Delightful.
Dragonfly, 5 – 29 Aug (not 15), 4.20pm (5.20pm), free, fpp74.
