Danny Pensive’s Map Of Britain (Lee Martin for Gag Reflex Management)
By Nina Glencross | Published on Friday 26 August 2011
With his adorable accent and cuddly appearance, lovable Sunderland-based comic Danny Pensive is just like a Northern Care Bear. Taking the audience on a tour of Britain through his eyes, Pensive offers tales of his travels from Dundee way down to Newquay and everywhere in between, as well as some random excerpts from his diary. He affects a degree of simple-mindedness, delivering his material in an innocent, childlike manner, but then he slips out some cutting wit, firing out insults like facts he’s looked up on Wikipedia, so then you know that there is more to him than meets the eye… Hilariously sweet, Pensive is a delight to watch, full of amusing observations about British scenery and culture.
