Croft And Pearce – Funnier Than It Sounds
By Kirsty MacSween | Published on Sunday 14 August 2011
Was Kate Middleton vajazzled for Zara Phillips’ wedding? According to Croft and Pearce’s pervy Royal Correspondent, indeed she was. This double-act battle gamefully against the early slot with a collection of mixed gross-out sketches, including those depicting an audition for an incontinence advert, a bitter creative-writing teacher and a hugged-out teddy-bear seeking admission to the teddy bear’s picnic. Excellent use of music keeps up the energy levels at all times, but it’s a shame that Croft and Pearce’s obvious potential is wasted in some of the weaker sketches, which feel a bit like time-fillers. Although not often laugh-out-loud funny, this show contains plenty of good material to be worth an hour of your time.
Underbelly, 4 – 28 Aug (not 15), 11.55am (12.55pm), £7.50 – £9.50, fpp62.
