Big Noise (Tara Flynn / PBH’s Free Fringe)
By Taylor Wallace | Published on Tuesday 30 August 2011
Wow, can Tara Flynn sing. She can even crack a joke, with all of her songs revolving around something humorous, like the Weetabix superhero, or the meat truck man. But where’s the band, or the piano, or the guitar? I was blown away by her voice but she needs more than just backing tracks. Much of her routine revolves around past and present romance, and she certainly had the crowd seduced; she knows how to handle an audience, and most punters seemed pleased. I smiled a lot, but I didn’t really laugh – she started every tune with much potential for humour, but it never seemed to be quite fulfilled. But if you like good singing, it won’t matter.
