Mad Science Free Dangerous Family Show (Out Of Kontrol Productions / Laughing Horse Free Festival)
By Lucinda Dobinson | Published on Wednesday 31 August 2011
With a stated aim of “Sparking Imaginative Learning”, this magic show-esque rendition of science experiments certainly captures the attention and imagination of children. Since the subject matter is educational, that can only be a good thing. Professor Kaos and Dangerous Dave are good performers, doing their best to include everybody, with a good awareness of the ease with which children’s attention can be lost or diverted. Although well-designed to be equally entertaining for parents (except perhaps for the nervous-looking dads they involved in their experiment), my one reservation is that after they’ve been equipped with a host of new fart jokes and the ability to make things explode, for the next few weeks you may find your children insufferable.
Laughing Horse at The Counting House, 4 – 12 Aug, 1.15pm (2.15pm), free, fpp25.
